There are three possibilities for Tom to be missing, he is lost, dead or has went rouge. It’s your job to find out what happened and deal with the consequences. In order to overthrow the dictator of the island you will need to team of with the factions that are present on the island. There are three factions that you will be joining. You will take on missions from them and destroy everything and earn money in the process. As you can see the story is not that great but it’s a great setting for an action game and it gets the job done. The game is not to be taken seriously as you will learn why when you encounter ninjas with guns attacking you. The action in the game is much more real and looks fantastic than the bland cutscenes that are used in between the missions with repetitive animations. Just Cause 2 may seem like any other shooter game set in the open-world but take it from us its different! There are some gameplay elements that you will not see in any other game. One such thing is the grappling hook that Rico will be carrying; it can be used at anytime and anywhere. This hook gives Rico the ability not only to scale on walls or hang from ceilings, it also allows him to grapple objects and pull them towards him. You can grab enemies using this action and kill them. There are many possibilities with the grappling hook like attacking two objects together, they may be two enemies or a car attached to a helicopter. The other great gameplay mechanic involves the parachute. You can use this parachute anywhere, jump from any cliff and open it before hitting the ground and you will be flying. Use it in conjunction with the grapple hook and pull yourself towards your destination while flying. This makes for a lot of fun gameplay. The two elements are not necessary to enjoy the game, as you can play the game as any other shooter by running and gunning everything that moves. Install Instructions
1. Download all parts from one box and use Winrar or 7zip to extract them. You will get a ISO file.
2. Use Daemon tools lite to mount the ISO or Burn it on a DVD
3. Install the game.
4. Copy all files from SKIDROW folder (DVD) to installation folder in Program files (Hard Disk)
5. Play the game.

As far as I know, Just Cause 2 only supports DirectX 10 and up. In other words, Vista or W7 only.
So those of us still gaming with XP are out of luck on thins one

Confirmed working on Windows 7 64bit. No problems with install or play whatsoever. Just READ the instructions and install with Steambackup.exe.

I’m running Win 7 x64 with Geforce 280GTX and it runs fine, looks gorgeous too.
I had an issue where it stopped on the loading screen after the cut scene but I went onto the Microsoft website and installed the latest Direct X runtime and now it works perfectly.
“For those unable to start the game, installing in in a folder other than Program Files (e.g. C:Games) solved the problem for me.
For those unable to save, try running it as an admin.”

it runs fine… but sound is a big issiue…. there is no voice or vehicle sound….. and weapon sound is waay off…. any idea why that is?

browse and Install game in a non-default directory e.g. C:/Games/Just Cause 2..saves works too.
Do not install on PROGRAM FILES !!!!

You can’t play on XP. This only works on Vista and Windows 7.
Do not install in the ”original” directory.
Install in this exempel. C:/Games/Just Cause 2 (New)
Do not Install in: C:/Program/***********/Just Cause 2 (Original)

this game is flawless
When I start the game, it asks which language, I select english, then, for some odd reason, I get the blue screen of death and my whole computer restarts. WTF.
I have read all previous comments and installed in a new C:/games folder.
Also, I installed DirectX and C++ redist after games’ install.

Updated ATI to CCC 10.3
Updated BIOS
Any ideas?
OK. I figured it out. My CPU was overclocked to 3.6 GHz. I just lowered it to 3.4 GHz and now everything works.

For all those folks who are having the problem of game not launching after clicking the launch button please select all files (not sub folders only files) in your “Just Cause 2″ folder … right click them and remove the read only attribute. Now the game should run.
